Are you clueless about internet scams and other tricks online? Well, a very smart blogger used a forum to ask some much-needed advice, and she ended learning a great deal about the site she was particularly interested about.

Here’s the whole story. Andylsbc6 found a bunch of great deals on “apple” merchandise in a company called Mobile World Ltd under the link www.88db.com.sg. The site is a non-local one from the United Kingdom. The products they sold were extremely cheap. It was just too good to be true! No wonder our blogger was interested and wary at the same time.

Thankfully, some bloggers did their own little research and they found these awful details. In the site’s registration details, Dotti, a fellow blogger found that the site was created only last March 9, 2010. That means the site has been existing for just a few months. However, if you browse through the link about them, you will notice that they claim to have been around for nearly two years!

In addition, the contact person on the site was a certain Sam Wales. After a quick background check, Dotti also found out that he is involve in illegal business online. He offers fake address details, phone numbers and credit card digits to Nigerians in the U.S. In his site are a couple of fraudulent testimonials which are exact copycats of various other testimonials from different sites too! Isn’t that pretty scary or what?

And one last thing, credible companies don’t just use Western Union unless they’re up to something fishy. Besides, what kind of business has no existing bank account? That would seem pretty weird, right? If you have to pay through Western Union, it means you will simply be handing out money to a complete stranger! So if that’s part of their payment options, you’d better click it off and find something else!

It’s nice to know we can help each other when it comes to uncovering scams online. And by sharing all these very important information, we help save online customers from  shopping nightmares that are simply waiting to happen!
